Physical activity is the key to staying young and healthy. When your feet hurt, it makes staying active difficult. My goal when treating patients is to help them heal as quickly as possible and keep them active during recovery to maintain physical fitness and strength.
Most foot and ankle injuries occur from overuse or from following the latest training trends that are lacking in scientific basis and do not take different foot types into account. While there can be merit to some trends, every foot type is different and every person has different needs. I like to take a collaborative approach with athletes, to find the best and safest approach to getting them back to activity and believe that education is the key to preventing recurrent injury.
