Our founder and newly retired, Dr. John Iredale, a native of Woodstock, Ontario. He received his doctorate from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1967 and established his private practice in Durham, North Carolina, upon graduation. He has dedicated his career to the furtherance of podiatric medicine in the Durham area.
He is a fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and of the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine.
Dr. Iredale is recognized as an expert in the field of foot biomechanics, and was a co-founder of the John H. Weed Foundation, an international educational organization dedicated to research and teaching in the field of biomechanics of the lower extremity. One of his specialties is treating multiple adult and pediataric foot disorders with prescription foot orthotics. He also has over 40 years of experience treating diabetic ulcers - employing mechanical off-loading techniques coupled with cutting edge wound care products such as bio-engineered skin grafts. He has performed over 1,700 bunionectomies during his career. He is married and has one daughter and three grandchildren. He and his wife, Beverly have been active in overseas mission work. He enjoys scuba diving, snow skiing, boating, wood working and reading.
